Alivia Blade is a SAFE SPACE artist from Louisville, KY, currently studying Graphic Design and Illustration at Columbia College Chicago. As an artist, Alivia focuses on the idea of self-investigation, exploring her relationship to her body in the face of social constructs in beauty and femininity. She is inspired by asking what it means to love herself unconditionally, as she seeks to uncover her true identity beyond societal demands and definers of blackness.
Brianna Alexis Heath Co-founder/SAFE SPACE Artist Community Engager
Brianna Alexis Heath is currently pursuing a BA double majoring in Dance and Cultural Studies with a concentration in Urban Studies at Columbia College Chicago. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Brianna studied modern and ballet at Moving in the Spirit with Atlanta dance professionals Lori Teague (Emory University), Dana Lupton (University of Georgia), and T. Lang (Spelman College). As an artist, Brianna's research surrounds gender and performance within the black church tradition.
Terrell "DOT" Davis Co-founder/SAFE SPACE Artist Lead Documentarian
Terrell "DOT" Davis is a SAFE SPACE artist and independent filmmaker from Chicago, Illinois, who attends Columbia College Chicago in the Cinema Arts and Sciences department. Davis began his film career at Chicago Vocational Career Academy where he directed his first film entitled Wake Me Up Later winning the school's second National Emmy Award of Excellence. He has also participated in local independent productions including 42:24 and Visitor. His recent work includes: Trust and Low High (2016).
