Young Artist Lab
Created in collaboration with the Southside Community Art Center and SAFE SPACE Chicago, Young Artist Lab is a free, one-day, creative intensive where young artists between the ages of 13-18 explore a variety of creative forms (visual arts, poetry, spoken word, music, dance) through collaborative practices to create an original performance to share with the community.
Students draw inspiration from a current exhibition being shown at the Southside Community Art Center and, through discussion, journaling and collaboration, create an original piece. The workshop is led by SAFE SPACE artists who are Chicago art students working in a variety of mediums (dance, spoken word, graphic design, journalism, etc.)
